Janapada Seva Trust

Inspired by the Gandhian ideal of sarvodaya, the Janapada Seva Trust has been striving for social and economic elevation of the weaker section of society.
Its main fields of work are welfare, education, village industries and agriculture.
The Trust has been active since 1960 in and around Melkote, a mofussil town, 150 Kms from Bangalore and 55 Kms from Mysore.
Over the years the Trust has laboriously built a fine infrastructure of rural reconstruction and rehabilitation programmes.
The accent is on self-help and people's involvement: the Trust seeks support not so much from the State as from people who care.
